The body doesn’t grow in the gym, it grows while you rest, this is when your body gets stronger and rebuilds muscle.

If you do not take adequate rest days you run the risk of over training and will actually sabotage your progress.

Fatigue, lack or loss of appetite, mood swings, lack of sleep are common signs of overtraining. If you start to feel these symptoms take a couple days off from the gym, do some active recovery like walking your dog. Your body will love you for it and will reward you with continual results over time.
